Karitsa Kerns - Enrolled Agent and NTPI Fellow, is passionate about helping successful business owners and high-earning professionals legally minimize their tax liability and keep more of what they earn.
Early in her career she realized there was a gap in tax services for successful business owners. They were paying well over the amount of taxes they were required to pay due to lack of planning. That’s when she decided to specialize in proactive tax planning.
Karitsa is highly educated in tax law and strategies. She obtained her Masters in Accounting and Financial Management with a concentration in Certified Public Accounting and is an Enrolled Agent (aka America’s Tax Expert licensed through the IRS). She has saved clients thousands of dollars using customized tax plans tailored to the individual’s unique needs.
I discovered my love for accounting at West Charlotte High School.
I took Accounting I and Accounting II my Junior and Senior year. That’s when I said I wanted to be a Certified Public Accountant. I earned a paid internship at a company in Accounts Receivable. Eventually, I landed a job at one of the big bank in Charlotte, NC.
Later, I made the leap back to school and earned my Master’s in Accounting and Financial Management, with a concentration in Certified Public Accounting. I became an Enrolled Agent—America’s Tax Expert—licensed by the IRS. That’s when I discovered my true niche: proactive tax planning.
I worked in Corporate Payroll, Tax, and Accounting for over 20 years before starting my own firm.
I am also a licensed Real Estate Broker. I had rental property and saw the tax benefits of it. There are many tax advantages when you deal with real estate whether you sell your primary residence, sell real estate as a career, or invest in real estate.
What I did not realize was I was still missing deductions that I was not aware of before I dove headfirst into the tax world. Now it all makes sense. You don't have to make the same EXPENSIVE mistakes I made. That's why I married my two loves - Real Estate and Taxes - to help you avoid the expensive mistakes I made before I became an expert in taxes.
